A delegation consisting of high level officials of MoEF&CC and CPCB consisting of Shri Tanmay Kumar-IAS, Addl. Secy-MOEF & CC and Chairman-CPCB, Shri N.P.Gangwar-IAS, Addl.Secy-MOEF & CC, Shri Satyendra Kumar, Director-MOEF & CC, Shri Nazimmudin, Scientist-F, CPCB, Shri P.Jagan, Regional Director, CPCB -Bhopal, Shri D.K.Soni, Regional Director, CPCB-Lucknow, Shri N.Subhramanyam, Scientist-D, MOEF & CC, Shri Sunil Kumar Meena, Scientist, D-CPCB Bhopal visited NTPC Vindhyachal on 20.11.22 to assess the situation of fly ash utilisation, disposal of unutilised ash in ash ponds and other environment related issues in the region. Shri Mukesh Srivastav, Regional Officer, MPPCB (Singrauli) and Shri T.N.Singh, Regional Officer, UPPCB (Sonebhadra) also joined the delegation at site.

NTPC team was represented by Shri Ramesh Babu V , Director(Operations), Shri M.V.R. Reddy, ED(SSEA), CC, Shri S.C.Naik, HOP (Vindhyachal), Shri B.Goswami, HOP (Singrauli), Shri A.K. Chattopadhyay, HOP (Rihand) and other senior officials and team members from Vindhyachal, Singrauli, Rihand and Corporate Centre.

The delegation visited the Shahpur ash dyke area and under construction FGD area and Carbon-to-Methanol plant area of VSTPS. The delegation had a concluding meeting which, besides NTPC officials, was attended by Shri Arun Kumar Parmar, Collector & District Magistrate (Singrauli), Shri Bhola Singh, CMD (NCL) and Shri Dr Anindya Sinha, Director-Technical/Opns (NCL) and some of the other industry representatives of Singrauli area while DM (Sonebhadra) and some industry representatives and other MoEF officials also joined online. The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the various measures to be taken to address Singrauli area pollution in compliance to the order of Hon’ble NGT in OA 164/2018 dtd 18.01.22.
